A culinary adventure...

It is my turn to host the Bluestocking Society and I expanded my culinary talents (we think) to include authentic food from Eve: A Novel of the First Woman. While I wouldn't recommend the book (unless you really enjoyed Tobacco Road), I have enjoyed trying my hand at unusual dishes.

Our first course will consist of baba ganoush...you see the steps to the dish (which no one in the house will sample)...hopefully the Bluestockings will be a bit more brave...

The rest of the menu will be a mystery until tomorrow evening, but I can share the delectable looking dessert...can you kanafeh?

Once upon a time...

Top ten clues that it is summer for the Collins clan...

10 - The only clothing in the washer is several sets of bathing suits and beach towels.

9 - We spend every Tuesday and Thursday at the AR center.

8 - All the children repeat ad naseum that "we are bored!"

7 - The cat refuses to go outside because it is just too hot.

6 - Marshall grimaces when he opens the bill from the country club (can't beat the snack bar chicken strips!).

5 - The freezer is full of empty ice cream sandwich boxes.

4 - No one bothers to eat breakfast because we didn't wake up until 11:00 a.m.

3 - Dinner consists of a juice bag and microwave popcorn.

2 - I am not really sure if my children are in the house or did I leave them at a sleep over.

And the number one clue that it is summer...I refuse to speak to anyone until I finish this chapter!
